HSA/FSA Letter of Medical Necessity
Some products require documentation from a licensed healthcare provider stating that the item is necessary to treat or manage a specific medical condition. If the product requires a Letter of Medical Necessity (LOMN), Flex facilitates a chat-based consultation that generates the Letter in real time.
In order to qualify to use your HSA or FSA card for Sound Therapy Bowls, the IRS requires you to have a Letter of Medical Necessity. Rainbow Sounds has partnered with Flex to enable asynchronous telehealth visits as part of our checkout. Within 24 hours of your purchase, Flex will email you both an itemized receipt.
You should keep it on file for at least three years in the event of an IRS audit of your HSA or FSA account. Occasionally, FSAs may ask for the Letter to confirm the eligibility of your purchase.
Please emailsupport@withflex.comand they will reach out to their telehealth team to reprocess and send your corrected Letter of Medical Necessity.
Please email support@withflex.com. This may be a time zone issue. We’ll reach out to our partners at Flex to see if they can reissue the Letter with an updated date.

HSA/FSA payment
To use your HSA or FSA debit card, add products to your cart as usual. At checkout, select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment option, enter your HSA or FSA debit card, and complete your checkout as usual. If you don’t see “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA,” you may be in Shop Pay. Select “checkout as guest” to view more payment options.
If you don’t have your HSA or FSA card handy, still select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment method. Enter your credit card information and Flex will email you an itemized receipt to submit for reimbursement.
The key here is to make sure you are logged out of ShopPay. One of the easiest ways to do this is to go through checkout in an incognito window.
HSA/FSA cards are debit cards, and the most common reason for declines is insufficient funds. Reach out to your HSA/FSA administrator to confirm your balance.
Please forward us the request from your FSA, and we will work with the Flex team to issue you a new receipt.

No, unfortunately, this isn’t a supported feature right now. If there are insufficient funds in a single HSA or FSA account, you can instead enter a credit card on the Flex checkout page. You will receive an itemized receipt and/or Letter of Medical Necessity from Flex, which you can submit for reimbursement.
Sales tax for eligible items is also covered by HSA/FSA funds. If the customer has a split cart, the tax will be divided among the cards based on the items.
HSA/FSA reimbursement
We strongly recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider to see if a purchase is eligible prior to completing the purchase. However, if you believe your claim has been wrongly denied, please send over any response from your HSA/FSA provider to us so we can share it with Flex and receive guidance on the next best steps to take. Please note that employer-sponsored FSAs can determine what products are eligible beyond the IRS’s guidelines, so it’s extremely important to check prior to purchase.
The ability to apply for FSA reimbursement in a future calendar year depends on the policy of the specific FSA provider. Most FSA administrators require that the purchase be made during the time of coverage. For example, if the FSA coverage is for 2025, all purchases typically need to be made and/or submitted for reimbursement within that coverage period. However, some administrators may have more flexible rules regarding the timing of when the expense occurred. We recommend that customers review their plan policy to confirm the details.
Note: Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) are different and generally allow for reimbursement at any time, even in future years.
Unfortunately, for purchases made without using Flex in the checkout to receive an itemized receipt, it may be difficult to apply for reimbursement. For Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), consumers can use an itemized receipt for reimbursement anytime after they have made the purchase, even if it is many years later. For Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), most accounts require that the purchase was made in the calendar year during which the consumer had the FSA, as FSAs typically do not roll over. Some FSAs offer a buffer window, allowing customers additional time to submit receipts for expenses incurred during the previous calendar year.
Product Info
Sound therapy bowls can offer many benefits, including:
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Supporting physical comfort
- Improving mental and emotional clarity
- Balancing your energy centers
Sound therapy bowls are made from quartz crystal—crushed and heated at very high temperatures in a mold to create a beautifully resonant bowl. The result combines the natural properties of crystal with pure sound.
These bowls are not only visually stunning and soothing to listen to, but they are also used in a variety of practices, including meditation, yoga, energy work, and sound therapy. Experienced practitioners use them to support relaxation, focus, and the balancing of your energy centers.
Rainbow Sounds sound therapy bowls are tuned from a base of the 432Hz scale. This means the A note of the scale is set at 432Hz—a universally recognized reference for harmonious sound.
It’s important to note that this doesn’t mean every bowl is individually tuned to 432Hz. Each bowl still has its own musical note, so you’ll find a full set of bowls with different notes across the scale.
For more details, you can refer to our 432Hz tuning scale reference guide.
Rainbow Sounds™ crystal singing bowls are made with High Purity Quartz (HPQ) with Australian Quartz. HPQ provides a longer and louder resonance than a lesser purity grade of quartz.
At Rainbow Sounds, we make our own sound therapy bowls—we’re not just a distributor. Each bowl is carefully designed for sound clarity, ease of play, and long-lasting resonance, which sets them apart from cheaper or lower-quality options:
- Ultra High Purity Quartz = Longer, Louder Resonance: Our bowls are made with high-purity quartz, giving them a rich, full sound with minimal effort. You only need a gentle tap or light sing to produce a long-lasting, vibrant tone. Bowls made from lower-grade quartz often require harder striking or “winding up” to get the same resonance.
- Signature Smooth Matte Finish = Better Sound & Less Drag: Unlike frosty bowls that can feel rough and create drag on your mallet, our smooth matte finish allows for effortless play while delivering superior sound clarity.
Every Rainbow Sounds bowl is crafted for a pure, consistent tone and a joyful playing experience.
Our sets of sound therapy bowls are designed so the musical notes harmonize beautifully together and fit neatly when stacked in the carry cases. Currently, we offer only our curated sets to ensure the best sound experience, so custom sets aren’t available on this site.
No, unfortunately we don’t offer replacement stickers for the bowls.
Sound therapy bowls are delicate, so we don’t recommend checking them as standard luggage. If you must check them, please pack them carefully in a well-padded box and mark them as fragile.
Whenever possible, we suggest taking your bowls in their carry cases as carry-on luggage. Be sure to check your airline’s size and weight limits to ensure a smooth journey.
Helpful reference for travel:
- Set of 3 bowls in carry case: approx. 7 kg, dimensions approx. 33×33×33 cm
- Set of 4 bowls in carry case: approx. 9 kg, dimensions approx. 33×33×33 cm

Customers in the United Kingdom are entitled to a 14-day change-of-mind refund, but only if the purchase was made from a UK stockist or reseller. This policy does not apply to purchases from our Australian online shop.
Special note: If a bowl is reverberating sound onto your mallet, it's important to understand how to play a Rainbow Sounds bowl. This is not a product fault. Rainbow Sounds bowls are made with a very high-purity grade of raw material, making them highly vibrational. If you are unable to effectively play a high-grade bowl, we recommend enrolling in Rainbow Sounds Training or a specialist crystal bowl training provider who is also a Rainbow Sounds stockist.
If an item arrives broken, you'll need to log a claim with us within 3 days of the delivery being signed or accepted.

3. Take a photo of the courier slip addressed to you
4. Email all images with your original order number to customer@rainbowsounds.us
5. In your email give any extra detail you can
Waiting time for claims is 3-6 weeks – this is the time the courier takes to process claims. Your claim is with the courier and not with Rainbow Sounds, we just help facilitate it.
Care & Cleaning
To clean your sound therapy bowls, use cold water and a soft microfiber cloth. Be gentle—avoid scrubbing or using harsh chemicals. For best results, use a white or neutral cloth to prevent any color transfer that might stain your bowl.
Always wipe your bowl dry before storing it. For more detailed guidance, check out our Care Guide
